TeamBridge is a workforce operating system founded in 2020 and based in San Francisco. It gives organizations one place to manage scheduling, time tracking, onboarding, and day-to-day team coordination, with a mobile-first experience built for frontline and hourly workers.
The platform supports teams across healthcare, stadiums, and worksites, where staff are constantly on the move. TeamBridge was founded on a clear conviction: the busywork of running a workforce should be automated, not endured. Its mission is to put software, and increasingly AI, to work on the manual, repetitive operations that consume a manager’s day, while giving every worker their schedule, pay, and new opportunities in their pocket. Alongside scheduling and communication tools for admins, the product runs automation and AI to give operations teams a practical advantage.
Business context
As TeamBridge grew, one gap stood out. The platform handled scheduling and coordination well, but the documentation lived elsewhere. To manage compliance paperwork, onboard new employees, or sign contracts, users had to leave TeamBridge and turn to separate, third-party document tools.
That split created real friction. Data was fragmented across systems, teams carried manual overhead moving information back and forth, and the business paid for external tools on top of its own platform. TeamBridge wanted document creation and signing to happen where the rest of the work already did, inside the product. Geniusee partnered with the team to make that possible.

Everyone I’ve worked with at Geniusee, from the PMs, QA, to the front-end engineers, the back-end engineers, I genuinely got a sense that everyone cared equally as much about the success of the product as I did. Even though they were new partners, I genuinely felt like they were part of the team.

Disconnected documentation workflows
Users had to switch between TeamBridge and external document tools to prepare compliance documents, onboarding forms, and contracts.
Manual overhead for admins
Document creation, distribution, signing, and storage required extra manual steps, which slowed down internal processes and made routine operations harder to manage.
Fragmented compliance data
Because document workflows lived outside the platform, important records were split across systems. This made it harder to keep employee, contract, and compliance-related data connected.
Limited in-platform document automation
The client needed automation for report generation, bulk document creation, distribution, and document attachment to relevant records.
Solutions we implemented
To resolve the client’s issues, Geniusee built a fully custom Document Studio and E-Sign engine directly within the TeamBridge platform. The solution helped users create, modify, automate, send, and sign documents without relying on external tools:
1. Native Document Studio
We developed a native document creation module that allows admins to build templates from scratch. Users can add static content, dynamic data fields, and fillable inputs to create flexible, data-driven templates for different business needs.
2. PDF upload and template editing
We added PDF upload functionality so users can turn existing documents into editable templates. After upload, the PDF opens in the Template Editor as a background layer, where users can add fields and prepare the document for further processing. The feature supports drag-and-drop upload, file picker upload, progress indication, and error handling.
3. Integrated E-Sign engine
We built an E-Sign feature that allows users to add signature fields, signer data, dates, and other required fields directly into documents. Admins can assign fields to specific recipient groups, so each signer receives the right part of the document.
The signature workflow includes audit trail data such as timestamps, signer identity, device, and IP address. It also supports downloading signed documents, with or without a certificate of completion.
The feature was designed to support legally binding signature workflows under standards such as the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce (ESIGN) Act and electronic identification, authentication, and trust services (eIDAS).
4. Automated report generation and distribution
We extended TeamBridge’s automation capabilities through the Workflow Builder. Users can configure automation steps that define the report template, root object, and export settings.
The system supports single, bulk, and grouped reports. Generated documents can be sent through supported channels and attached to relevant records, helping teams keep documentation consistent and easier to track.
5. Delivery process adapted to changing priorities
Because TeamBridge’s product priorities evolved during the project, we adjusted the delivery process to accommodate frequent updates to requirements. Our team maintained close communication with the product owner, continuously refined the backlog, and reprioritized tasks within sprint cycles.

Consolidated workflows reduced the time it takes to onboard end users.
✅ Single compliance repository
Document data lives in one place, which simplifies compliance and record-keeping.
✅ Legally binding e-signatures
ESIGN Act and eIDAS compliance, backed by a complete audit trail.
✅ Lower tooling costs
Less reliance on paid third-party document tools and the overhead people carried.
✅ Enhanced user satisfaction
An intuitive, native workflow improved the overall platform experience.
Evolving requirements
As TeamBridge’s business developed, new ideas and refinements emerged, sometimes after a feature had already been built. That meant revisiting completed functionality and adapting it to updated expectations.
Building on an active codebase
We were not creating a standalone application. We were integrating a highly custom Document Studio into a live platform, and extending the existing codebase added significant technical complexity.
A flexible, solution-oriented approach
We treated each change request as a normal part of the work, kept communication with the client clear and continuous, and re-prioritized tasks quickly within each sprint cycle so momentum held steady.
Careful integration with the existing platform
We built the Document Studio and E-Sign engine to fit the established architecture, working closely with TeamBridge’s engineer on deployment and using a structured UAT phase to catch issues before each release.
