In 1959, Arthur Samuel, an artificial intelligence researcher and inventor of the first self-learning drafts computer program, coined the term “machine learning” and defined it as a process whereby computers were able to show behavior that wasn't been explicitly programmed.
Machine learning is a subclass of artificial intelligence: in addition to it, it includes robotics, and much more. Machine learning itself includes various methods, in particular, working with neural networks, which are now so popular.
At the conference which took place in Las Vegas from 2 till 6 December 2019 in addition to the Braket and DeepComposer services , Amazon presented SageMaker Autopilot.
Amazon SageMaker provides developers and data analysts with the ability to quick creation, training, and deploying machine learning models. Amazon SageMaker is a fully managed service that spans the entire machine learning process, including labeling and data preparation, algorithm selection, model training, adaptation and optimization for deployment, forecasting, and taking action. This provides the ability to deploy models in a production environment faster and with much less time and effort.
SageMaker Autopilot allows you to provide a tabular dataset and select the target column to predict, what a number (regression), such as a car price, or a category (classification) such as true/false can be. SageMaker Autopilot automatically explores different solutions to create the best model. As a result, you can deploy the model in a working environment with one click.
How it works
Main Benefits
-
Quick & easy generating of high quality models;
-
Maintaining of visibility and control;
-
Easy in deploying.
At the moment, Amazon Sage Maker will need to compete with the leaders in machine learning - DataRobot and H2O.
H2O.ai is a Silicon Valley open source software company that broughts to the market new AI platforms and technologies. They are the developers of, H2O, the leading open source data science and machine learning platform used by nearly half of the Fortune 500 and trusted by over 18,000 organizations and hundreds of thousands of data scientists around the world.
DataRobot combines a trusted enterprise AI platform and a trusted AI-native strategic partnership for global enterprises that has been working on harness the power of AI for 7 years and serves thousands of companies that use machine learning all over the world.
It will be interesting to see Gartner Quadrant in the field of machine learning for 2020 to know if the new service from Amazon will take a leading position and surpass its strong competitors as DataRobot & H2O.
