Keep - employee retention application

FinTech is one of our core industries, so we were excited to empower Keep with our expertise. Keep is an innovative service in the compensation and retention space. The Geniusee team was excited to assist in developing a service that allows companies to give vesting bonuses as loans to employees. Via Keep, employees may receive their total bonus cash up front, and the loan is paid down by the employer. The employer pays upfront to Keep. The vesting schedule shows how much of the loan is vested (forgiven) for the employee, and if the employee leaves the company, everything that's not vested should be returned.

Keep was created to empower employee retention despite the unstable situation in the stock market. Due to the current decrease in economic activity, becoming a shareholder is an option for rewarding the most remarkable workers. Keep became an intermediary between companies and employees to strengthen joint commitment with bonuses instead of company shares.

Process

This isn’t the first project we tailored with this client. As we have known one another for a long time, our work is smooth and fast. Being on the same line allowed us to skip the discovery phase and start with the usual business analysis process.

Business analysis is an inherent part of any development process. You can deliver a successful solution without precise requirements, collection, and analysis. It’s also vital to define the need and offer possible solutions that bring value to all stakeholders in context. Our specialists conducted market research and competitive analysis and presented WBS (work breakdown structure). We tailored this project based on schemes that refer primarily to tech documentation.
As cloud-based software development provides stability and security, we tailor serverless platforms hosted by AWS. The architecture was built on modern cloud providers and their prebuilt services to speed up the development process and analyze external services. Besides that, we conducted a setup for a range of services such as AWS, analytics, and monitoring solutions. This allowed us to realize how customers use our app and the results of our work. Logging all in-app actions simplifies debugging.
We built this service from scratch, tailoring all functionality on front and backend parts. Geniusee pays attention to the security of development, delivering solutions under the guidance of ISO requirements. We also deliver custom integrations with third-party services in a secure and protected environment. Here, we connected Plaid and Synctera for transactions and bank account uptie, DocuSign for contract signup, and Segment and Mixpanel for analytics.
We conduct penetration tests, as it’s a vital requirement from regulators for FinTech projects. We use test cases, functional analysis, and regression testing as part of manual quality assurance. We automate the testing process by adding autotests for endpoint, end-to-end tests, and unit tests to the functionality. Front and backend solutions will also be tested automatically soon.

The project is quite complex but exciting. The backend includes integration with many third-party services, such as Slack, Segment, Mixpanel analytics, and DocuSign document generation and signing service. But I would like to pay special attention to the work with Synctera, a young product we use to manage money movements and ACH transfers. We have close communication with their team and solve our problems together, improving their product, which is an excellent experience for me. In general, the development does not cause difficulties since it is carried out by a team of specialists, each of whom is responsible for his part.
